The Islamic date today, Tuesday, 27 October 2026, is 15 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH (15 Jamadi ul Awal 1448) in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and every other city of Pakistan. Pakistan follows one national decision of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, so the Hijri date does not differ from city to city.

Sunset times are calculated astronomically for each city centre (accurate to about a minute or two) and show when the next Hijri date begins. For prayer, follow your local masjid's maghrib time. Cities further west (Quetta, Karachi) see sunset later than Lahore or Sialkot.
Why is the date the same in every city?
On the 29th of each Islamic month, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees meet in the provincial capitals and send testimonies to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which announces one decision for the whole country. This month, Jumada al-Awwal 1448 began nationwide on 13 October 2026. Occasionally some local, unofficial committees (for example in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) announce a different date; this site follows the official federal decision.
