How Pakistan sets the Hijri date
Pakistan does not use a pre-calculated calendar for religious dates. On the 29th of each month the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, with zonal committees, gathers moon-sighting evidence and announces whether the new month begins next day. That is why Pakistan is often one day behind Saudi Arabia (today Saudi Umm al-Qura: 15 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH). Details: Ruet-e-Hilal in Pakistan.
